What I fix in Scotts Valley
- Computers that have got slowAlmost always software rather than a machine that needs replacing.
- Scam popups and things you clickedCleaned up properly, plus what to look for next time.
- Printers that will not printThe single most common call I get, and usually quick.
- Wi Fi that drops or will not reachOften placement or equipment, not the internet you pay for.
- Email that will not send or sign inIncluding the accounts nobody can remember the password to.
- A new phone, tablet or computerSet up properly with everything moved across from the old one.
- Passwords and being locked outIncluding the ones that now want a code from somewhere.
- Being shown how it worksPatiently, more than once, without being made to feel stupid.
I do not do hardware repair. A cracked screen, a dead power supply or a drive that has physically failed needs a repair shop, and I will tell you that rather than charge you to find out.
About working in Scotts Valley
This is the town where I see the most home office setups, because so many people here work remotely for companies over the hill. Getting a home office actually reliable, the network, the printer, the backups, is a very different job from fixing one broken laptop, and it is worth doing properly.
Areas I cover
- Skypark
- Glenwood
- Vine Hill
- Mount Hermon Road
Booked in one hour blocks. Past the first hour, extra time is billed in 30 minute blocks. One time, weekly or monthly, whatever suits. No contract and no call out fee on top.
Who I usually help
Older people who want someone patient, families who are tired of being the unpaid tech support for a parent, and small businesses that need something fixed without a contract or a ticketing system. Every visit is one on one and I explain what I am doing as I go.
Try it yourself first
I would rather you fixed it for nothing. These are free, with no sign up, and if one of them solves it you owe me nothing.
