How to Print from iPhone
You don't need a cable. You don't need to email anything to yourself. iPhone can print directly to your printer over Wi-Fi using AirPrint. Here's how it works and what to do if it doesn't.
Quick steps
Open the photo, page, or PDF. Tap the Share button (square with up arrow). Scroll down, tap Print. Pick your printer. Tap Print in the top right.

Does your printer support AirPrint?
Most home printers from 2014 onward do. Check the box, the printer manual, or the printer's web interface. Or just try. If it shows up in the iPhone's printer list, it supports AirPrint.
Brands with good AirPrint support: HP, Canon, Epson, Brother (most models), Lexmark.
Why won't my iPhone find my printer?
Almost always one of these:
- Wrong Wi-Fi network. iPhone and printer must be on the same Wi-Fi. If your router broadcasts two networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure they're on the same one, or merge them in your router settings.
- Printer asleep. Wake it up by pressing any button.
- Printer not on the network. Try printing a network configuration page from the printer. If no IP is shown, the printer isn't connected.
- Router blocking. Some routers have AP/Client isolation enabled, which blocks devices from seeing each other. Turn it off in router settings.
- Outdated printer firmware. Update via the printer manufacturer's app.
Non-AirPrint printer? Use the manufacturer's app
If your printer doesn't support AirPrint, download the brand's iOS app:
- HP: HP Smart
- Canon: Canon PRINT
- Epson: Epson Smart Panel
- Brother: Brother iPrint&Scan
Print multiple photos at once
- Open Photos app
- Tap Select (top right)
- Tap each photo you want to print
- Tap Share button
- Tap Print
Save as PDF instead of printing
From any Print menu, pinch outward on the preview to "open" the PDF. Then tap Share to save it to Files or share via AirDrop, email, or messages. No printer needed.
If printing is slow or stuck
- Open the App Switcher (swipe up and pause)
- Tap and hold on the Print Center (if it's there)
- Cancel the stuck job
- Try again
