Entering the Tech World

By Isaac Farris · June 22, 2026 · Post #1

Hey, my name's Isaac Farris and I am the founder of ITF Business. I wanted to start a blog on my page where we can talk about anything and everything when it comes to the tech world, and as you know, that's changing daily. I figured with this first blog I'd give a little story on me and what my vision is for my business and the goals I have in mind. I want to share the ups and downs and how I got here, and about all the great people I've met and am happy to call my friends.

I grew up with a love for any kind of technology. An old slider phone? It was the coolest thing ever. An old iPhone? I'd look for all the possibilities of the device: could I hack it, could I upgrade it? I would buy cheap old desktop computers just to go home and tear them apart and learn how they worked. I'd then research how to make them better, how far I could push it. I'm sure I drove my parents crazy with the amount of gadgets and devices I was always bringing home. It didn't help that I volunteered at a young age at a second-hand store, where I tested electronics and could take a lot of them home. I always have loved to learn and figure out what makes things work. And thankfully, with how fast the tech world is growing and evolving, I'm never bored with all the constant learning I'm doing. Do I want more certs? Do I want more hands-on with computers or networking? Do I want to try a new program? Do I want to learn how to code? These are the things always going through my mind, but I love it.

Besides tech, I've always had a love for helping those around me. I've considered it one of my biggest flaws, caring too much about others, but I'm learning that it really has helped a lot of people. I think of myself as being patient and wanting to help anytime someone needs it, and that has been a thing since I was just a little boy. So I think both naturally blend well together. I understand that seniors may not have the time or the want to understand their tech, so I try to step in and provide help, either by fixing issues with their tech or walking them through how to fix it and what steps to take to not encounter the issue again. Never degrading them, but rather trying to build them up. I've met so many great people: seniors, small business owners, or just those that don't have time to make it a priority, and that's where I come in, to keep their lives and businesses running smoothly. I am the new kid on the block, but I've made great connections in the IT community, and I love how friendly the community is. We are all problem solvers, so when we see a fellow techy struggling or in need, we love to step in and help. I still have a lot to learn in the IT field, but I'm sure I will never stop learning as technology continues to advance.

So, I was very nervous to start my own business. I was also fearful of all the layoffs constantly happening everywhere, and figured I wanted to spend that time and effort building my own business, but was nervous about running the business and keeping a great record for tax time. So that's when I had the idea of blending my strengths of IT, bookkeeping schooling, and my love to help out, and I created my first app and website, RoadFolio, which can be found at roadfolio.net/welcome. I have been running my business off the app 100%, and it has been a lifesaver and a game changer. I'm able to spend more time providing help to the community and less time recording mileage, income, expenses, and invoicing, because I created an app to simplify the whole process. My goal was to make a Swiss army knife for independent contractors. So I released this app a couple days ago, and am now trying to market it.

I look forward to growing my business, providing more and more help to the community, creating more apps and programs, and providing help pages, tech reviews, and just being a trustworthy guy trying his best to help people. I plan on posting blogs weekly, eventually posting content on YouTube, engaging with the public, and building lasting relationships. This job has been a dream come true, and I look forward to meeting more of you. Let me know any ideas you have for my business, or app ideas, and let's make them a reality. Stay safe out there!

Your Friendly Tech Guy,
Isaac Farris
